About our College
Sri Venkataramana Swamy College, Bantwal was established in the year 1968 by a few philanthropists of Bantwal with the motto ‘Vidya Sarvartha Sadhake’. It is the first centre of higher education to have come up in the taluk and also the most developed college in the entire taluk. Nestled among a cluster of hillocks in serene surroundings, the college is blissfully free from the din and bustle of city life. It has been making steady progress with the whole hearted support and cooperation of the devoted management and a set of committed teachers. As the educational scenario in the whole country is undergoing an inevitable churning process, the institution is marching ahead with a vision based on the realities of the modern world. Retaining the traditional courses, the college offers new disciplines and a post graduation course. Recognizing the quality of our premier educational institution, it was re-accredited with B Grade with 2.72 C.G.P.A by the NAAC.
The Library and Information Centre of our college has adopted an open access system so as to facilitate readers to have an easy access to the library resources and has been also making sincere efforts to assure a conducive environment for intellectual inquiry. It is been providing user focused services by adopting the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) keeping in view the aims and objectives of the college. Our library is completely automated with a collection of over 42,000 books, 360 CDs and subscribing 62 general magazines and journals on various subjects. Internet facility is provided to the students and faculty free of cost. UGC sponsored INFLIBNET e-books, e-journals, SC/ST Book Bank facility and issue of books to the people of the rural locality are some of the unique services provided by the Library and Information Centre.
